Gems of Dartmoor: A Unique Photography Workshop

Malcolm Snelgrove, a Devon-based photographer, has had his Dartmoor workshops chosen as part of the new English National Collection. His Gems of Dartmoor Photography Workshop is included in a collection of bookable experiences that tell the story of England’s National Parks, its people, landscapes, history, and cuisine.

Funded by the Visit England Discover England fund, the Experience Collection aims to drive growth in international tourism, particularly from Australia and Germany, which represent 30 percent of all visits to English National Parks.

Gems of Dartmoor Workshop

The Gems of Dartmoor workshop is perfect for anyone who loves the outdoors, regardless of their photography skills. This unique experience takes participants off the beaten track, allowing budding photographers to capture their Dartmoor stay in a distinctive way.

Malcolm expressed his excitement, saying, “I am thrilled to be included in the new Experience Collection. This initiative is fantastic for driving international visitors to our National Parks. There’s so much more to Dartmoor than the well-known honey pots. This workshop gets to the heart of the National Park, walking to destinations that offer a kaleidoscope of color, taking advantage of the opportunities that cross our path, and discovering those Gems of Dartmoor.”

Workshop Highlights

Participants will visit stunning destinations that are off the beaten track. Additionally, Malcolm will offer advice on improving photography skills, providing hints and tips about taking great images. He will cover technical details such as settings, composition, and light, while also unraveling the mysteries of the moors.

The English National Parks Experience is an immersive collection of experiences. These can only be appreciated within the national park landscapes, helping people delve deeper into rural English life. Visitors connect with local people, history, culture, and cuisine.

International Appeal

German and Australian visitors represent 30 percent of all international visits to English National Parks. They contribute £100 million to local economies each year, motivated by the quintessential English countryside. The Gems of Dartmoor Photography Workshop aims to enhance their experience and appreciation of Dartmoor's unique beauty.
